How far below the waterline is installation recommended for best illumination?
Lumishore recommends mounting 4" to 12" (100–300mm) below the minimum load water line for best underwater illumination.
What sealant is recommended for mounting the SMX54 to the hull?
Use marine sealant such as 3M 4200 (or equivalent) during mechanical installation.
What should I do with vessel power/batteries before installation?
Disconnect or isolate the vessel’s power source and battery prior to installation.
Who is allowed to install, inspect, and maintain the SMX54?
Lumishore states it should only be handled by a qualified electrician, following applicable electrical codes, with power OFF during work.
For underwater installs, where can the SMX54 be mounted on the boat?
For underwater installs, it should be mounted on the transom or side hull only.
Where should a SUPRA i-Connect Hub be mounted (if using one)?
Mount the hub in a dry, well-ventilated location, not in areas prone to flooding or excess heat, with access to fuses/connectors.
What spacing is recommended when installing 3 or more lights?
For three or more lights, equal spacing of 2.5'–3' is recommended to achieve a consistent light pool.
Are there mounting location restrictions related to heat?
Yes. The light is temperature sensitive and must not be located close to the exhaust outlet or other heat source.
What pilot hole size is specified for the mounting screws?
Pilot hole size for screws is 9/64" (3.5mm).
Any guidance on tightening the mounting screws?
Attach the light using the 3 supplied screws by hand with a screwdriver. Do not over tighten, and do not use power tools.
Any special prep required if the boat has a cored hull?
Yes. The manual notes cored hulls must be sealed before fitting the lights; follow the hull manufacturer’s instructions.
Does each SMX54 light need its own fuse?
Yes. Lumishore specifies that each light should be individually fused with the correctly rated fuse.
Do I need to wait for the sealant to cure before launching?
Yes. Follow the sealant directions and ensure it has fully cured before putting the boat back in the water.
What hole size is specified for routing the cable through the hull?
The manual specifies a 9/32" (7mm) hole for the cable.
What counterbore size/depth is specified for the SMX54 screw locations?
After drilling the pilot holes, drill a ø4mm counter bore to a depth of 5mm in each location.

Which payment methods are accepted in the Online Shop?
We accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and also Apple Pay.
You can also pay by bank transfer, selecting this payment method when checkout. Once the order has been placed without paying money, in the next screen we will provide you the bank information required for the transfer.

How long will delivery take?
We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's a "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.
It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.
When you've placed your order, you can follow-up the shipping on the "My Account" section, with detail information about parcel status.
We will also notify you by email or SMS continously about each shipping activity.
