Inspect and tighten mounting and tiller-bolt hardware regularly and lubricate the rod end and tiller bolt with marine-grade grease compatible with nitrile seals.
What precautions should be taken when mounting near speakers or magnetic sources?
Install at least 20 cm (8 in.) away from marine speakers, and avoid locations with strong magnetic interference.
What are the mounting hardware requirements and dimensions?
The supplied M8 bolts, washers, and nuts are suitable for mounting on a surface 12 mm (0.47 in.) to 24 mm (0.95 in.) thick. Mounting holes should be 8.8 mm in diameter, spaced 76.2 mm (3 in.) apart.
What is the procedure for installing the tiller bolt?
Drill a 12.2 mm (0.48 in.) hole in the quadrant or tiller arm, insert the tiller bolt, secure with M12 washer and locknut, and apply LOCTITE 638 or equivalent.
What should you avoid when wiring the drive unit?
Do not cut the drive-unit cables, as cutting them voids your warranty.
