No more having to find out what size of pump will work with your particular boat. SmartPump v2 works for most boats with hydraulic autopilot systems and applications. You will know that you have the right pump for your boat, to enjoy optimal control and total confidence. In addition, it offers complete control in a smaller size with better performance, greater reliability and lower energy consumption. It also includes color-coded connectors to make it as easy as possible to install.

Our SmartPump v2 has a smaller size and weight than those of the previous version, it keeps the components resistant to corrosion, including black dye in the aluminum parts and nickel bath in all steel parts.

Are there software updates for the autopilot system?

It is recommended to update the autopilot software after installation. Follow the instructions in the manual for update methods.

Does my steering system require a vented reservoir?

Yes, installing the pump with an unvented reservoir can damage it. Ensure your vessel has a vented reservoir before installing.

Should the SmartPump be connected before wiring power?

Yes, mount and connect the SmartPump to the hydraulic system before connecting it to power or the CCU for safety and proper function.

What mounting hardware is required for the SmartPump?

The kit includes mounting screws, but if these are unsuitable, provide appropriate screws for the mounting surface.

Who should install the Garmin SmartPump v2?

The SmartPump v2 should be installed by a qualified marine installer due to the need for knowledge of marine steering and electrical systems.

Where should the SmartPump v2 be mounted?

Mount the pump in a dry location, protected from water and the weather. Preferable orientation is horizontal, or vertical with the connectors facing up.

Is thread seal tape allowed on hydraulic fittings?

No. Do not use thread seal tape or putty on any hydraulic fitting. Only use recommended liquid thread sealant as specified in the manual.

What are the main hydraulic port types on the SmartPump v2?

The SmartPump v2 uses SAE ORB-5 ports for its hydraulic connections (H1, H2, C1, C2, T).

Can I use the SmartPump with non-Garmin autopilot systems?

No, this pump is only for use with Garmin autopilot systems. Using it with other systems may cause damage.

How close should the pump be to the steering cylinder?

For larger cylinders or higher pressure systems, the pump should be within 3 meters (10 ft.) of hose to the cylinder.

Is additional care needed for power-assist or Uflex MasterDrive systems?

Yes. Follow special hydraulic layouts and caution not to cut high-pressure lines in Uflex MasterDrive setups.

Which payment methods are accepted in the Online Shop?

We accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and also Apple Pay.

You can also pay by bank transfer, selecting this payment method when checkout. Once the order has been placed without paying money, in the next screen we will provide you the bank information required for the transfer.

How long will delivery take?

We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's a "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.

When you've placed your order, you can follow-up the shipping on the "My Account" section, with detail information about parcel status.

We will also notify you by email or SMS continously about each shipping activity.

What exactly happens after ordering?

Also, our support team receives one and the provisioning workflow is initiated.

A controller will be internally assigned to your specific order, in charge of personally assuring the picking, shipping, and dozens of details required to ensure the best experience for you.
