Battcar systems outperform in-mast or in-boom furling, cost far less, and sails don’t need to be recut. High-strength Torlon® ball bearings circulate smoothly for fast sail hoists, douses, and reefs. Harken now offers an option that allows C-Tech batten receptacles to be used with our Battcar systems. The pintles have shoulders that protect the threads from bending, making them more robust.

Are there cautions about track installation and screw engagement?

Screws must be engaged at least five turns into the mounting slug to secure the track and avoid personal injury or death.

How are the Battcars loaded onto the track during installation?

Cars are loaded by rolling them onto the track, beginning with the headboard car, using the guide section of the loader track for alignment.

What kind of maintenance is required for this Battcar system?

The system requires periodic inspection for burrs, checking ball bearings, and cleaning to ensure smooth operation.

Is Loctite required during assembly?

Yes, blue Loctite adhesive is used on screws and in slug holes during track and endstop installation.

Who should install or service the Harken 32 mm CB Battcar system?

The sail must have a batten receptacle to accept the appropriate stud size (12, 14, or 16 mm); Harken does not supply the receptacle.

Can Battcars be used for applications other than sailboats?

No, use for other than normal sailboat applications is not covered by the limited warranty.

Can I ask for a proforma invoice instead of purchasing online?

Which payment methods are accepted in the Online Shop?

We accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and also Apple Pay.

You can also pay by bank transfer, selecting this payment method when checkout. Once the order has been placed without paying money, in the next screen we will provide you the bank information required for the transfer.

How long will delivery take?

We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's a "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.

When you've placed your order, you can follow-up the shipping on the "My Account" section, with detail information about parcel status.

We will also notify you by email or SMS continously about each shipping activity.
