All Lumishore Thru-Hulls are ‘flush-fit’ with extremely low profiles. TIX models have the added benefit of an internal LED array and integrated driver, for the ability to service from inside the hull and to simplify installation.

What sealant/adhesive does the installation guide recommend?

It specifies using only 3M 4200, and also notes using “3M 4200 Marine (recommended) or similar” for the sealant bead.

Where does the bonding connection attach during installation?

Attach the vessel’s bonding protection to the bonding bolt on the locking ring.

Can I install or remove the TIX404 while the vessel is in the water?

No. The guide warns not to attempt installation or removal with the vessel in the water.

How far below the waterline should the light be installed?

Install it about 6–10 inches (150–250 mm) below the minimum load waterline / water line.

What hull hole size is specified for installing the TIX40/TIX404 thru-hull?

The guide lists a 57 mm (2.25 in) hole size for TIX 40, or 64 mm (2.5 in) with a Delrin sleeve.

What temperature limit/heat-source caution is stated?

Do not expose the lights to temperatures above 150°F (65°C). Avoid mounting near hot engine components or where exhaust emissions could reach the light.

Do I need to waterproof power connections?

Yes. The guide says all power connections must be made waterproof using a suitable junction box or waterproof connectors.

Can I unscrew/remove the cartridge from the light body?

No. The guide explicitly says not to remove the cartridge; doing so invalidates the warranty and may damage the LED module.

How tight should the retaining bolts be (torque limit)?

Do not over-tighten. After curing, re-tighten with a force less than 3Nm per bolt (and do not exceed 3Nm).

Does each light need fuse/breaker protection?

Yes. Use a suitable fuse or circuit breaker to protect the system, and each light should be individually fused.

When is an isolation sleeve kit required, and should the lights be bonded then?

The guide states an isolation sleeve kit is required for wood, metal, or carbon fibre hulls; in that case, do not bond the lights.

What spacing is recommended between multiple lights?

For best results, space the lights between 2.5 ft (0.8 m) and 6.5 ft (2 m) apart.

Is condensation inside the light normal?

Small levels of condensation can occur on rare occasions; the guide states this is normal for high power LEDs and will disappear after cooling.

Which payment methods are accepted in the Online Shop?

We accept credit and debit cards, PayPal and also Apple Pay.

You can also pay by bank transfer, selecting this payment method when checkout. Once the order has been placed without paying money, in the next screen we will provide you the bank information required for the transfer.

How long will delivery take?

We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's a "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.

When you've placed your order, you can follow-up the shipping on the "My Account" section, with detail information about parcel status.

We will also notify you by email or SMS continously about each shipping activity.

What exactly happens after ordering?

Also, our support team receives one and the provisioning workflow is initiated.

A controller will be internally assigned to your specific order, in charge of personally assuring the picking, shipping, and dozens of details required to ensure the best experience for you.
