Description
It will change your VHF experience forever. With an intuitive terminal with touch screen designed to offer durability, the Cortex V1 is a communications hub that integrates clear and powerful audio with the ability to avoid AIS collisions, in addition to allowing the monitoring and control of remote systems on board or on the ground.
VHF, AIS and Monitoring
Cortex V1 is an advanced VHF radio compatible with several stations that offers remote control and monitoring. The Cortex V1 system includes a Cortex M1 hub and a terminal with Cortex H1 cable. Connect more Cortex terminals (sold separately) to enjoy greater freedom and control on board.
Avoid collisions
Cortex smartAIS continuously monitors the AIS information of other vessels and calculates crossing situations, generates collision alarms and provides easy-to-understand indications of elements to avoid. The data of the integrated course sensor is also transmitted, so that other boats can clearly identify the direction in which yours is moving.
VHF Voice flexibility
Both portable and wired Cortex terminals are connected wirelessly through a Wi-Fi® link to the Cortex M1 hub. You can take a terminal with you to access VHF communications continuously from anywhere on the boat.
Dsc with a touch
Cortex allows you to initiate direct DSC calls to other boats just by tapping the boat icon in the terminal. Start VHF calls to friends or quickly alert other boats when the weather is up.
Anchor notice
Whether you are on board or on the ground, you can make sure that your boat is safely anchored. Cortex smartAIS accurately tracks the movement of the boat, the direction and position of the bow, and alerts you if the anchor toars.
VHF, High and clear
The VHF Cortex radio emits clear and powerful audio of up to 85 dBA, so you won't miss any important communication.
Speaker and speaker
Do you need to get someone's attention? Easily emit predetermined horn signals or speak through the speaker with any Cortex terminal or the Cortex Onboard smart device application.
Terminals available where you need them
Several Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P terminals can be connected to each hub. Up to 5 can be connected directly to the Cortex network, with an additional 5 through an existing boat network to increase the range on larger boats.
Don't miss a word.
The Cortex system's innovative SquelchEQ control is constantly adjusted for optimal listening performance, while its exclusive Omni Watch actively listens to all VHF frequency channels simultaneously and records each active channel during the playback period. With Cortex, you will never miss a message.
Intuitive control
Designed to offer simplicity with easy-to-understand screens and step-by-step data flows during critical situations, Cortex facilitates the use of advanced functions.
Voice alerts
Instead of ringtones or ambiguous tones, you will hear a voice indication that will inform you of the reason for the alert. In the event of a possible collision, the address of the threat will also be indicated, so you will quickly know where to look.
Man's warning in the water
The Man to the Water (MOB) function can be activated manually through the specific MOB button of the Cortex terminal, the application for Cortex Onboard intelligent devices or automatically from a MOB AIS beacon, which starts a tracking mode for a quick recovery.
Compatible with gloves and moisture
Wet Hands? Do you wear gloves? The Cortex terminals are designed to be used with gloves and to work in all types of saltwater or freshwater nautical environments.
Use with one hand
The Cortex terminals are equipped with a control wheel, an ergonomic design and an exterior with better grip to be able to use them with one hand on the control bridge or the rudder.
Sensitive MULTI-TOUCH control
Cortex touch screen terminals provide sensitive multi-touch control, touch zoom and panoramic control, which guarantees fast and fluid navigation and intuitive operation.
Resistant and durable design
With IPX7 water resistance rating (resists water entry when submerged for up to 30 minutes in a meter of water), the thermal polymer housing of the Cortex hub is resistant to heat and corrosion, so it can be safely mounted anywhere on board. Cortex terminals also have an IPX8 water resistance rating.
Low energy consumption
Designed to offer a minimum power consumption of only 500 mA, the Cortex hub can stay on uninterruptedly to keep you informed. It will notify you even when the MFD is off, which is ideal if you need to save energy when you are anchored or on a long trip.
Overcome the light of day
The bright and optically integrated LCD screen offers visibility in daylight with clarity and a wide viewing angle. An integrated ambient light sensor allows automatic adjustment as conditions change.
Galvanic isolation
The ports and internal components with galvanic insulation protect the Cortex hub and the connected equipment from electrical short circuits and damage to the circuit in the corrosive nautical environment.
MULTI-CONSTELLATION GNSS
Thanks to the fast 10 Hz GPS updates that follow the rhythm of your boat, its position is traced through several global satellite networks. When you connect other devices to Cortex through NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183, all on-board equipment benefits from Cortex's super-fast GPS capability.
Operation at 12/24 v
Cortex works with 12- and 24-volt power supplies, so it is plug-and-play compatible with most electrical systems on boats of all sizes.
Supervision systems
Check the status and history of the integrated and connected sensors. Monitors the benney, security, electricity and other instruments. Set alarms and alarm thresholds, check the data history and know when the sensor was last activated.
Integrated sensors
The GPS, the course sensor, the battery sensor and the barometer provide valuable information as standard inside and outside the boat as soon as the Cortex system is connected and configured.
Networked sensors
You just have to connect to your boat's NMEA 2000 network to monitor factors, such as wind speed and direction or water depth, from the other devices on board.
External sensors
The limits are set by your imagination: connect sensors to monitor the activity and level of the bilge, electricity, security systems and much more (external sensors are sold separately).
Cortex monitor app
Download the Cortex Monitor app from the Apple® or Google™ app store and use your smartphone or tablet to monitor your boat and receive alerts1.

This makes it compatible with devices on any of those networks, in addition to the fact that it can connect through integrated Wi-Fi® connectivity. Receive alerts directly on your compatible devices from anywhere on board.
Connection while roamining
Connect to a network of boats with mobile or satellite data to move where Cortex mobile data connectivity does not reach.
Simple monitoring
Register your Cortex Monitor-compatible smartphone or tablet and link it to your Cortex hub. Next, use the Cortex Monitor app to remotely monitor your boat through integrated sensors connected to your Cortex hub. Upgrade to a Premium subscription to access the anchor warning function and receive push notifications in real time.
Easy start
Easily connect the Cortex Onboard and Cortex Monitor applications with your exclusive QR code to start receiving alerts, view information about the status of the boat and remotely control the devices with your compatible smartphone.
Simple installation
It uses a single existing VHF antenna (not included) for both AIS and VHF, which saves time and money in the installation. You can also use a single AIS/VHF antenna to enjoy optimized AIS performance.
Software updates
Cortex will be smarter and smarter. Both functionality and new features are being developed at all times and are automatically downloaded into the Cortex Onboard application to facilitate Wi-Fi updates of your Cortex system.
Simplify your system
Cortex replaces up to 10 different devices with a single integrated hub device, which makes it a simple device, easy to install and intuitive to use.
Integrated divider
Install Cortex and preserve the existing VHF antenna and radio. Cortex incorporates a lossless high-performance VHF/AIS splitter with a failure-proof step. You just have to connect your existing VHF to the Cortex auxiliary output.
