This open antenna radar signals moving targets in different colors and provides excellent target detection at both short and long-range distances, even in fog or rain.
HIGH-POWER Radar
This 50-watt radar has a range ranging from 6 meters to 133 km (72 nautical miles), even with fog or rain. It offers rotation speeds of 24 RPM to reduce power consumption and 48 RPM so that the screen updates quickly.
HIGH-RESOLITY Radar
The horizontal beam width of 1.25 degrees provides a high-resolution image and the high antenna gain allows even weak targets to be detected at a considerable distance.
Motionscope technology
MotionScope uses the Doppler effect to detect moving targets and highlight them in different colors so that you can surround other boats or navigate in adverse weather conditions, or towards fishing points where the birds feed on the surface.
Intuitive operation
This radar does not have any complex user configuration to deal with, so it is easy to install it and start using it.

What safety precautions should be taken during installation?

Who should perform installation of this radar?
Installation by a qualified marine installer is recommended for best performance and safety.
How should the ground wire be connected?
Connect a 3.31 mm² (12 AWG) copper ground wire from the pedestal to a water ground location with a crimp connector and marine sealant.
Can the mounting template be printed or should the one in the box be used?
It's recommended to use the mounting template from the product box. If printing, follow precise instructions to avoid size errors.
Are there compatibility requirements for voltage when connecting power?
The voltage converter requires an input voltage of 10 to 32 Vdc; check your vessel’s power system to ensure it meets this requirement.
Where should the radar be mounted for safe operation?
Mount the radar out of range of people, with the vertical beam width above head height. Avoid mounting closer to people than the specified minimum safe distance.
How can cables be routed through the mounting surface?
For routing cables, use the center channel indicated on the template and drill a pass-through hole using a 32 mm (1-1/4 in.) drill bit if needed.
Can the power cable be directly connected to the battery?
Yes, you can connect the power cable directly to the battery if your radar model is not packaged with a voltage converter. The power cable must have the inline fuse in place.
Can previous Garmin or third-party voltage converters be reused?
Do not reuse voltage converters from previous Garmin radar models or third parties; use only the one provided or a compatible Garmin converter.
How should you seal cable routing holes for waterproofing?
Apply marine sealant after cables are in place to ensure a waterproof seal. Decorative grommets do not provide waterproofing by themselves.
How should the antenna arm be attached to the pedestal?
Align the waveguide on the pedestal with the socket on the antenna, slide the antenna onto the pedestal, then secure using the captive hex bolts under the antenna arm.
