Yes, before placing the adapter plate, remove any existing gaskets or marine sealant from the mounting surface.
Should I use the device itself as a template for drilling mounting holes?
Do not use the device as a drilling template; instead, use the provided template to prevent display damage and warranty invalidation.
Why shouldn't the device be used to drill mounting holes?
To prevent glass display damage and voiding the warranty, always use the provided paper template.
What should I do if the mounting template paper is too small?
If your paper is smaller than the template, select a Page Size in printer settings that is larger than the template.
Does Garmin take responsibility for mounting errors from incorrect template use?
Garmin is not responsible for any mounting mistakes made from failing to use the template correctly.
If my FLIR camera is not detected, what troubleshooting should I try?
Check power, breakers, PoE adapter, Ethernet cable, and network devices; verify compatibility and camera operation.
Is integration with third-party network cameras possible?
Yes, but connect them via a Garmin PoE Isolation Coupler; direct PoE connection to the chartplotter will cause damage.
Can I control FLIR marine cameras through the chartplotter?
Touchscreen gestures on the chartplotter allow for pan, tilt, and zoom control of supported FLIR cameras.
Can the chartplotter display composite video from cameras?
Yes, it can receive and display standard composite (BNC) video feeds from cameras using its built-in video input.
How should you form an association with an analog FLIR camera?
When prompted, select the FLIR camera as the video source from the Video Source menu to form the association.
What procedure should I follow if I need to modify the existing dashboard opening?
If the pre-cut holes don't match, drill new ones as instructed, possibly using slots for ease. Re-check before securing hardware.
