Harness Release System:

Spinlock's Deckvest VITO and Deckvest 6D both have the option of a Harness Release System (HRS), a soft loop attachment point for a safety line which can be released in an emergency to free a person from their safety line.

The Spinlock Harness Release System (HRS) is a new innovation which enables the wearer to disconnect from the safety line by releasing a lever behind the soft loop safety line attachment point of the lifejacket harness.

What is HRS?

Spinlock still considers a knife to be an essential piece of carried equipment. However, we have yet to develop a reliable consistent safety line clip release system. Instead, we are focused on developing a release system of the actual lifejacket harness. Testing showed that the harness release system needed to be simple to understand, simple to use and simple to maintain as well as reliable over the lifetime of the lifejacket. At the same time, the harness release system must meet the requirements of the ISO12402 approval.

Staying connected to the boat is undoubtedly safer than being in the water and use of a safety line is actively encouraged. However, in the event of a fall overboard, a casualty can find themselves being dragged/trapped alongside or behind the vessel. A situation which can be hard to be released from.

Inflation System:

UML Pro Sensor ELITE inflator

The Pro Sensor Elite® Automatic Inflator replaces the Pro Sensor® Automatic Inflator late in 2018 (13mm shorter and 4 grams lighter than the original Pro Sensor® Automatic Inflator).

This is a water sensitive activation system, that uses a compressed paper capsule which dissolves when wet, which then releases a spring to puncture the CO2 cylinder.

The cap is designed so that only water flowing upwards through the unit will cause it to activate. Water, spray and rain running down the jacket will not cause activation.

The Pro Sensor ELITE has two indicators that show the status of the CO2 cylinder and firing head.

What is included in the product versus optional extras required separately?

The jacket is supplied with Pylon and Lume-On lights fitted. It requires 1 x 33g CO2 cylinder and the Harness Release System (HRS) is optional.

Is the Deckvest 6D compatible with AIS MOB systems?

Yes — the Deckvest 6D is listed as compatible with MOB1 AIS systems (MOB1 AIS Compatible is specified for the model).

What warranty is offered with the Deckvest 6D?

Spinlock offers a 5 year warranty on the Deckvest 6D when you register the product (subject to the terms on registration).

What size CO2 cylinder does it require?

The Deckvest 6D requires a single 33g CO2 cylinder for the automatic inflator to operate.

What inflation system is fitted to the Deckvest 6D?

The Deckvest 6D uses the UML Pro Sensor ELITE automatic inflator (water‑sensitive, compressed paper capsule activation). It has two status indicators and an upward‑flow activation cap to avoid false trips from rain or spray.

What buoyancy ratings and approvals does this lifejacket have?

The Deckvest 6D is CE approved and listed to ISO12402-3 (170N) and ISO12402-2 (275N). It is also approved to ISO12401 as a deck harness.

Is a lifejacket light fitted as standard?

Yes. The Deckvest 6D is fitted with a Pylon 360° lifejacket light and Lume-On bladder illumination lights as standard on the jacket.

Is a Harness Release System (HRS) available for this model?

An optional Harness Release System (HRS) is available. The HRS is a soft‑loop release that lets the wearer release from a safety line in an emergency and can be reset for reuse.

We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's an "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.
