Are there requirements for connecting the pump to the steering system reservoir?
The pump must not be installed with an unvented reservoir as it can be damaged. Verify the reservoir is vented before installation.
What are the mounting requirements for the 2-Liter Pump Kit?
The pump must be installed in a dry location, protected from water and the weather. You should mount the pump horizontally, if possible. If you cannot mount the pump horizontally, you must mount it vertically with the pump head connectors facing up.
What should I do if my pump installation results in gradual steering drift?
For installs with uneven rudder loads causing gradual drift, you can install a check valve accessory to block the bleed down path during manual steering.
What hydraulic hose length limits are recommended for installation?
No more than 3 m (10 ft.) of hydraulic hose should connect the pump to the cylinder for optimal performance.
What maintenance is recommended for this pump?
Apply a marine corrosion inhibitor spray to the pump body and manifold, and re-apply once each year to extend the life of the pump.
Should the hydraulic system be bled after installation?
Yes, you must bleed all air from each part of the hydraulic system before using the autopilot to steer the boat.
What are the key safety precautions for pump installation?
It is important to wear safety goggles, ear protection, and a dust mask when drilling, cutting, or sanding. Also, always check the opposite side when drilling to avoid damaging the vessel. Installation should be performed by a qualified marine installer familiar with steering and electrical systems.
Are the pump cables extendable if more length is needed?
The cables from the pump to the ECU cannot be extended, so plan the installation location accordingly.
What should be done to prevent corrosion after installation?

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.
