Описание
The MCU device, which allows you to control and monitor all on-board electronic systems from your Garmin plotter or a compatible third-party display, is an essential component of larger-sized digital control installations. It is the central processor that controls the system and provides computing power, intelligence and decision-making functions, in addition to coordination between the distribution control modules (DCM) of the system, including the NXT™ DCM and Connect 50™ DCM units from EmpirBus.
In addition, there are several interfaces for connecting to external devices. The updated MCU v.2 device has two auxiliary CAN ports and two galvanically insulated RS485 ports that can be configured for additional third-party integrations in parallel.
The MCU device communicates with all other components of the system through the NMEA 2000® network. The configuration files for installation are stored on the MCU device, so if a DC module is damaged, it is simply replaced: the MCU will take care of programming it. Although the MCU device is designed to support more complex and larger switching systems, in smaller systems one of the Connect 50 units or other DCM units can be configured to act as the main control of the system.

Always switch off system power before installing or disconnecting equipment, unless instructed otherwise.
How should the MCU v2 be wired and grounded?
Correct grounding per instructions is required. Do not connect to positive grounding systems.
Can the unit be installed on IMO or SOLAS governed vessels?
The equipment is intended for leisure boats and workboats NOT covered by IMO and SOLAS regulations.
Where should power for the unit be sourced from on a boat?
Use a battery separate from engine start to prevent erratic behavior and data loss.
