The GT23M-TH transducer is perfect for coastal and offshore fishermen who want a traditional CHIRP probe and a CHIRP ClearVü exploration probe. This aft mirror mount transducer constantly shows fish arcs in a clear and sharp way with a superior lens separation, as well as a clear definition of the structure under the boat.
The 8-pin transducer includes a traditional CHIRP probe with a medium frequency band (80-160 kHz) and has a power of 600 W. The CHIRP ClearVü element (260/455 kHz) has a power of 500 W.

What safety precautions should I take during installation?
Always wear safety goggles, ear protection, and a dust mask when drilling, cutting, or sanding. The device must be installed with anti-rotation bolts (included) to avoid damage.
What tools are needed for installation?
You will need a drill, various drill bits, wrenches up to 38 mm, marine sealant, sandpaper, masking tape, and possibly a hole saw (size depends on hull type).
How should I prepare a non-cored fiberglass hull for installation?
Mark and drill all holes perpendicular to the water surface, use masking tape to reduce gel coat cracking, and sand/clean the areas after drilling.
Why use anti-rotation bolts during installation?
Anti-rotation bolts prevent device rotation during movement, which could cause vessel damage.
Should I update the chartplotter software after installation?
Yes, you must update the Garmin chartplotter software when you install this device.
How do I prepare a metal hull for installation?
Drill a 3 mm pilot hole, then use a 32 mm hole saw for the stem hole and a 13 mm drill bit for bolt holes; clean and sand all drilled areas.
How do I apply marine sealant when installing?
Apply marine sealant around the base of the stem and anti-rotation bolts—do not apply it directly to the stem or anti-rotation bolts.
Where should the transducer not be installed?
Do not mount the transducer near the engine, in the engine room, or in turbulent water for optimal performance.
Should the mounting template be printed at home?
It is not recommended to print the template on your own. Use the template that came in the product box.
Is a fairing block recommended for mounting?
If the deadrise angle at your mounting location exceeds 5°, you should use a fairing block to mount the transducer.
How should a cored fiberglass hull be sealed?
Seal the exposed inner core with marine grade fiberglass epoxy resin before securing the transducer in the hull.
