What maintenance is recommended for the antenna connection?
Cover unused connectors with weather caps to prevent corrosion of metal contacts.
Is the LTE antenna suitable for installation inside a cabin?
If installed inside a cabin, place it near a window for the best cellular signal.
What are the warnings regarding mounting orientation?
Do not mount with the connectors facing down or against the mounting surface, as the GPS antenna will not work in this orientation.
Are mounting screws included?
Screws are included, but may not be suitable for your surface. Choose hardware as needed for your mounting location.
Should the antenna be installed with the vessel in the water?
Install the device only when the vessel is on land or properly secured and docked in calm water conditions.
How is the antenna connected to the device?
Remove the black rubber cap, loosely attach the antenna, orient it, finger tighten, then use an included wrench to turn 45 degrees.
What should be done before drilling mounting holes?
Always check the opposite side of the surface to avoid damaging the vessel.
Are there any torque specifications for tightening the antenna?
The antenna nut should be finger tight plus 45 degrees, with a recommended torque of 0.56 N-m (5 lbf-in.).
Is there a recommended distance from other cables or sources of interference?
Mount the device at least 102 mm (4 in.) from cables and other potential sources of interference.
What precautions should be taken to ensure a water-tight connection?
Tighten the antenna nut to 0.56 N-m (5 lbf-in.). Over tightening could cause damage.
What orientation should the antenna have for GPS reception?
For best GPS reception, the device should be above the water line and have a clear view of the sky.
