The SteadyCast heading sensor is a simple and very easy-to-install solution that can be quickly calibrated and provides exceptional course accuracy. Align the bow of the boat with the real orientation, so that, with the help of the plotter screen, you can know where you throw the hook.

Precise direction even at low speed

With a heading out frequency of 10 Hz and an accuracy of more/minus 3 degrees, you can be sure that the orientation of the letter and the heading line of the boat will totally coincide with reality, even at low speed or when being totally still in the water.

Effective in coarse sea conditions

You can also fully rely on the accuracy of the course information, even in coarse sea conditions.

Easy to install and quick to calibrate

Thanks to the NMEA 2000® plug-and-play interface and a precise and simple two-step calibration process for compatible Garmin plotters, the SteadyCast rumbo sensor is very easy to install. Basic calibration is also supported. It is also available for Garmin echoMAP models and other NMEA 2000 displays. The 9-axis MEMS technology allows installation in any orientation away from electromagnetic interference. Its design allows installation on the benney.

How should the cable be routed during sensor installation?

The cable can be routed along the mounting surface or through the mounting surface under the sensor using a 25 mm drill bit for passthrough.

What tools are required for SteadyCast sensor installation?

You will need safety glasses, a drill, 3.2mm and 25mm drill bits, a Phillips screwdriver, cable ties, and a portable or handheld compass.

How is calibration performed after installation?

Calibration is mandatory and can be done menu-based via chartplotter or basic, depending on NMEA 2000 devices connected.

What is a key safety precaution during installation?

Always wear safety goggles, ear protection, and a dust mask when drilling, cutting, or sanding. Check for obstructions before drilling.

What should I do if installing using non-standard mounting hardware?

If using your own hardware, ensure it is stainless steel or brass and test it for magnetic interference with a handheld compass.

Can SteadyCast be mounted in any orientation?

Yes, the sensor can be mounted in any orientation and is not required to be installed in the same horizontal plane as the boat.
