With GMI Wired Start Pack 52, you will have all the necessary equipment to get information about the wind and water. If what you are interested in is installing more than one instrument in your network, this is the perfect starter pack. By using the NMEA 2000 network, it is easy to expand it with the number of instruments you want.
Nautical instrument GMI 20
The digital nautical instrument display of the GMI 20 unit is perfectly designed for sailing and motor boats. Its large bright 4-inch color screen with extra-large digits is easy to read from a distance and offers a viewing angle of 170 degrees. It has been designed to clearly display data on depth, speed, wind and more than 100 nautical and boat parameters.
The resistant glass screen of the GMI 20 prevents fogging and increases the level of contrast. Sunlight readability has been improved with a high-contrast color palette. For better night visibility, you can choose between a color palette in red/black, green/black or the normal night mode along with a light dimmer control. You have the option to set the automatic screen change to automatically scroll through the pages without having to do anything. This is especially useful for navigators, since it allows them to install the unit in a wide variety of locations of the boat. The default profiles can be customized to adapt them to sailing or motor navigation, fishing, certain engine/fuel requirements and other specific user profiles. The power is supplied by the NMEA 2000 network.
gWind transducer
gWind transducer incorporates double fin technology with three-blade propeller to obtain a more accurate real wind speed (TWS) with soft winds while the double fin design provides a more stable real wind angle (TWA). The three-blade propeller, unlike those designed with curvature at the edge, is always effective. Along with optical reading, this transducer provides superior precision with soft winds and excellent linearity.
Airmar DST810 smart transducer helmets
DST810 combines accurate depth, speed and temperature data with attitude detection for header/swing and seat/score data, which it provides to the NMEA 2000 network and the GNX™ 20 instrument. This multi-sensor transducer detects depths of up to 100.6 meters (330 feet), offers a fast speed signal output in the water of 5 Hz, and has an operating frequency of 235 kHz with a fan-shaped beam width of 10 x 44 degrees. In addition, wireless connectivity to devices with BLUETOOTH technology allows the DST810 transducer to be calibrated directly through the Airmar Cast application. Advanced speed calibration works with different anchor angles and speeds.

How should wires be connected and sealed during installation?
For NMEA 0183 devices, solder and seal all connections with heat-shrink tubing for protection.
What sealing guidance is provided for installation?
Use the included gasket and marine sealant around the gasket to prevent leakage behind the dashboard.
Are there special wiring considerations when connecting NMEA 2000 power?
If installing a NMEA 2000 power cable, connect it to the ignition or an in-line switch—not directly to the battery—to avoid battery drain.

Wear safety goggles, ear protection, and a dust mask when cutting or drilling, and check the opposite surface before drilling.
