Beskrivning
This open antenna radar signals moving targets in different colors and provides excellent target detection at both short and long-range distances, even in fog or rain.
HIGH-POWER Radar
This 50-watt radar has a range ranging from 6 meters to 133 km (72 nautical miles), even with fog or rain. It offers rotation speeds of 24 RPM to reduce power consumption and 48 RPM so that the screen updates quickly.
HIGH-RESOLITY Radar
The horizontal beam width of 1.25 degrees provides a high-resolution image and the high antenna gain allows even weak targets to be detected at a considerable distance.
Motionscope technology
MotionScope uses the Doppler effect to detect moving targets and highlight them in different colors so that you can surround other boats or navigate in adverse weather conditions, or towards fishing points where the birds feed on the surface.
Intuitive operation
This radar does not have any complex user configuration to deal with, so it is easy to install it and start using it.
Size of the objectives
Adjust the size of the objects that appear in the radar image.
Auto bird gain
It locates flocks of birds on the surface of the water, where schools of fish are likely to be found.
Echo tracking
A historical "track" is reflected on the screen that helps to quickly and easily identify moving targets and possible collision threats.
Dual scale
The simple radar antenna has the ability to provide split-screen images on the plotter, both short- and long-range.
Compatibility with dual radars
Using a dual radar provides redundancy and the possibility of extracting data from one of the two different radar sources in each display unit of the boat.
Dynamic automatic gain
The gain levels are automatically adjusted to the optimal configuration for ports, areas near the coast and the high seas.
Dynamic sea filter
The gain automatically adjusts the sea filter to calm, medium or chopped sea conditions.
Radar overlay
Overlay radar images on the plotter map page. You can add an optional autopilot or course sensor to get the best results (sold separately).
Tracking of marpa objectives
Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (MARPA) tracks up to 10 selected targets, which helps track other boats and avoid collisions.
Guard zone
You can adjust the security zone and receive an alarm when an object enters it.
Vrm and ebl
Variable range markers (VRM) and electronic heading lines (EBL) allow you to quickly measure distance and direction with respect to boats and land.

How should the threaded rods be prepared during installation?
Apply the included petrolatum primer to half the length of each threaded rod before inserting and tightening into the radar base.
How should network connections be made?
Connect to Garmin BlueNet chartplotter or switch using the included BlueNet cable; Marine Network adapter is required for some setups.
How should the unit be grounded?
Connect a 3.31 mm² (12 AWG) copper wire from the pedestal to a water ground, then coat the connection with marine sealant.
How should the antenna be installed on the pedestal?
Align the waveguide on the pedestal with the antenna socket, slide together, and tighten hex bolts to 7.9 N-m (6 lbf-ft.).
What guidance is there for mounting surface preparation?
Mount on a sturdy, flat surface or platform parallel to the water line. Use the provided template for accurate drilling; do not print your own template.
How should the device be connected to a network?
Connect the GMR Fantom device to a Garmin BlueNet or Garmin Marine Network using the included cables for best performance.
Are there placement requirements relating to other onboard equipment?
Mount at least 1 m (40 in.) from transmitting equipment and radio signal cables, and 2 m (6.5 ft.) from SSB radios or other cables.
Where should the radar be mounted for best performance?
Mount the radar high above the ship’s keel line with minimal blockage and on a flat surface parallel to the vessel’s water line.
How should cable entry holes be made and sealed?
After routing cables, apply marine sealant to the hole to create a waterproof seal. Decorative grommets do NOT provide waterproofing.
What wire gauge should be used for power cable extensions?
Use 12 AWG for 3 m, 10 AWG for 5 m, 9 AWG for 6.5 m, and 8 AWG for 8 m cable extensions.
What safety measures should be followed when working with power cables?
Do not remove the in-line fuse holder; an appropriate fuse must always be in place as indicated in the product specifications.
