Overview

The Radial winch drum’s gripping surface is shaped for each winch size and drum material and features diagonal ribs (rather than textured abrasive materials) to maximize gripping power and greatly reduce line wear. The self-tailing mechanism on the winch means that one crew member can quickly and easily trim or raise sails.

Does improper maintenance affect warranty and safety?

Lack of adequate maintenance can reduce winch lifespan, cause accidents, and void warranty.

Where can I find additional assembly and servicing instructions?

Refer to the Maintenance Manual for detailed assembly/disassembly. Contact Harken customer service if needed.

Who should maintain or install the winch?

Only specialized personnel should install or maintain winches. Contact Harken Tech Service if in doubt.

What precautions must be taken during installation or reassembly?

You must ensure only professional and competent individuals perform installation or reassembly for safety.

What should you do if you don't have internet access for manuals?

A copy of the Maintenance Manual can be requested from Harken customer service via telephone.

Are special handles required for safe use?

Only Harken handles should be used. Using other brands may affect operation and safety.

What are the warnings regarding maximum load?

Never apply a load greater than the maximum working load (MWL) of the winch.

What line types are approved for use in the self-tailing jaws?

Use only marine-approved line within the specified diameter range. Do not use wire, chain, or non-marine lines.

How many wraps should be put around the drum for correct operation?

Wrap at least 3 turns around the drum, and more with higher loads, avoiding excessive wraps that restrict the lower jaw.

Are there any compatibility notes for the self-tailing feature?

Use only rope within the specified diameter range. The jaws automatically adapt, but incorrect size or unsuitable rope will impair performance.

Hur lång tid tar leveransen?

We only use first-class delivery carriers, like UPS and DHL. There's an "Express Delivery" option for many shipping destinations available.

It should not take more than 2-4 days to any European location, 3-6 days to any USA-based location, and 3-7 days worldwide.

When you've placed your order, you can follow-up the shipping on the "My Account" section, with detail information about parcel status.

We will also notify you by email or SMS continously about each shipping activity.
