What is the recommended torque for installing the LiveScope mounting puck?
Tighten the included hex head screw for the mounting puck to 7 N-m (62 lbf-in) using a torque wrench.
Should you apply marine grease during installation?
Yes, apply the included marine grease to new blue and black motor gaskets before installing them.
What cables should be bundled using electrical tape during installation?
Only bundle the power and any existing transducer cables in a triangular pattern—not the LiveScope cable.
Is it recommended to print your own mounting template?
It is not recommended. Use the template provided in the product box to ensure a precise fit and avoid mounting errors.
Are original screws reused when reinstalling the nose cone and skeg?
Yes, keep all screws and parts removed, as you must reinstall them when reassembling the skeg and nose cone.
What must be done with cable grommets during reassembly?
Apply a thin film of grease to the grommets and cable sections passing through before installing into the adapter.
What steps should you take if printing a mounting template?
If printing a template, print at 100% scaling on paper larger than the template, and use a ruler to check at least one dimension line for accuracy.
Is Garmin responsible for mounting surface damage due to template errors?
Garmin is not responsible for damage or expenses if the mounting surface is miscut from not following template instructions.
Does mounting the LiveScope transducer affect stow direction?
Once the LiveScope transducer is mounted, the motor can only stow in one direction—choose your side carefully.
What safety step must be done before servicing the trolling motor?
Always disconnect the trolling motor from the battery before performing any service to avoid electrical shock or damage.
What side can the LiveScope transducer be mounted on?
You may mount your LiveScope transducer on either the starboard side or the port side of your trolling motor shaft.
What should be done if routing cables through the shaft is difficult?
If resistance is felt, back the cables out by 2.5 cm (1 in.) and try again to avoid damaging connectors.
What torque is specified for tightening the propeller drive motor bolts?
Tighten all six bolts to 4 N-m (35 lbf-in) using a torque wrench for correct assembly.
What should you do with removed screws when detaching the propeller drive motor?
Dispose of the six screws; new screws, washers, and O-rings are provided in the kit for reassembly.
How much LiveScope cable should be left for repositioning?
Leave approximately 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 in.) of LiveScope cable between the adapter and transducer.
Should a thread-locking compound be used during reassembly?
Yes, apply medium-strength thread-locking compound like LOCTITE 243 to the bolt threads before reassembly.
