Grand Prix
Sailboat Racing Instruments & Navigation Software
B&G’s Grand Prix systems combine our most sophisticated electronics with industry-leading software to drive world-class performances and realise sailing ambitions.
Our precision marine electronics have been proven across the world’s toughest race circuits, winning every Volvo Ocean Race, the Vendee Globe and multiple world sailing championships.
The heart of the system. The powerful CPU acts as the hub for data from 3 independent CAN networks and Ethernet, calculating and calibrating every function in the system.
User variables and JavaScript implementation allow navigators and system specialists to create new variables, custom calibrations and sample 3rd party sensors.
B&G’s WTP instrument processor pioneered highly accurate wind data via high frequency sampling of
data and correction of measurements for wind induced by boat motion. Acknowledged as the “perfect wind solution”.
Optically bonded, ultra-clear, high frequency update HV (High Vision) Displays provide accurate instrument data into the users eyeline, allowing quick reference to “the numbers” whilst trimming or steering. Available in 4 different sizes to suit the application.
WTP data acquisition modules provide options for interfacing analogue sensors, serial devices – including GPS, Heading and other sensors – and event (MOB) buttons. Data is sampled locally near the sensor to keep cable runs to a minimum, saving weight, and transmitted to the CPU via CAN networks.
B&G provide a range of wind, speed, heading, attitude, motion and weather sensors to suit most requirements. However our Grand Prix systems are designed to interface openly with 3rd party sensors to suit any requirement – load cells, fibre-optic gyros, torque sensors… almost any requirement can be integrated.
